Got questions? We've got answers!
Do I wear a uniform?
No, you can wear what you like when training our clients. Think neat and tidy athleisure :)
How do I know when a new client is confirmed?
Amanda will email you to confirm any new clients. The client will then be added to your training schedule in PTminder.
Should I contact a client before meeting them for the first time?
Yes, it's a great idea to send a new client a one-off text message a few days prior to their first session introducing yourself, letting them know you're looking forward to working with them and confirming the time/day/location of the first session.
What equipment do I need?
Whatever you feel you can provide a great training session with! At a minimum we would suggest mats (for you and your client/s), resistance/booty band, dumbbells and a tape measure. Other very useful (but not essential!) items: boxing gear, TRX, step, kettlebells etc.
How do I get paid?
Please email invoices to Amanda on the 15th and last day of each month. Note your bank account details on your invoice.

Tips and tricks to set you up for success
- ensure your phone is always charged and car ready to go (petrol/easy access parking etc).
- always check your calendar and travel times (google maps) when confirming your availability to Amanda to see a new client. Factor in traffic/parking etc.
- when you receive forms for a new client, put their phone number and address in your phone straight away - that way if you get a random text from someone, you know who it is. You will also use their number for the introductory text.
- get familiar with the PTminder app (you will receive training prior to starting). You will use this app regularly, so knowing your way around it will make life easier.
- keep a tape measure in your car for clients who want to do body measurements on their first session. If possible, keep training equipment in your car too.
- depending on how much training equipment you have, you might want to look into some type of trolley to move it around.
- familiarise yourself with our procedures for taking progress photos, doing body measurements and fitness testing and be sure to check clients forms carefully so you know whether they want testing completed at the first session or not.
- If clients want testing and measurements, set yourself a reminder to re-test these again at regular intervals (anywhere from 4-8 weeks - be aware of their menstrual cycle when planning these dates so the results are meaningful and consistent).
- stock up on disinfectant wipes so you can quickly wipe down equipment between clients.
- give yourself plenty of time when meeting a new client for the first time, especially if meeting at a park. You want time to figure out where you're going to park your car, where/how you're setting up equipment and ensuring you are at the correct meeting spot.
